Bewildering Stories biography

I was once a history teacher at various colleges. While enrolled at the University of Maryland at College Park, I wrote a thesis for my MA: “Henry David Thoreau and the Heroic Ideal.” My PhD dissertation was titled: “For the Good of Us All”; it was a history of worker-health reform in the U.S.

I had a stint in politics — speechwriting, issues development, etc. — after which I went to work as a journalist. I published primarily in the San Antonio Express-News, the Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, Corpus Christi Caller Times and the Congressional Quarterly’s CQ Researcher. I have a very short piece in the Texas Monthly along with other, feature-length, free-lance pieces in a few more publications.
