Bewildering Stories biography

I spent many years writing news articles and features for magazines and newspapers, including The Washington Post. At times, I was accused of writing pure fiction. After a while, I figured: Maybe the readers are trying to tell me something.

I have been fortunate to have my science fiction and magical realism stories published in a variety of publications, including Perihelion, The Colored Lens and others. I self-published a non-fiction book, The Seeds of Spring, which sold poorly but won two awards.

Ideas for sci-fi stories come to me in the middle of the night, while I am walking on a wooded trail, or while I am trying to scrub the dirt from between my toes. In fact, I think I sense one coming now.
